Start in either Ravensdale (accessible from main road between Newry and Dundalk) or Carlingford (go through Newry CENTRE and take signs for Omeath / Carlingford).
Excellent XC, spectacular scenery and a bit of a wilderness feeling in places. Rides from an hour to a 6 hour epic.

Park in Carlingford village or at the Lumpers pub in Ravensdale.

The entire Cooley mountains and Slieve Foy overlooking Carlingford have excellent XC, with the emphasis on country! Some spectacular scenery and a bit of a wilderness feeling in places. Rides from an hour to a 6 hour epic.

(A guide on your first visit would save a lot of time. Put a post on the Newry Wheelers website and I'll do my best to organise a ride for strangers to the area - Kookie O'Hagan)

MTB marathon championships were held here in 2006 - MTB Marathon Championships 2006 Route (link out to Motionbased).

Also, the Carlingford Lough Endurance Challenge (CLEC) has a big mountain bike section, which will also give you a few ideas to get you going.

Awesome loop with cracking scenery & nice mix of tight climbs, fast descents & some excellent singletrack available in Ravensdale. Park at Ravensdale & follow the Tain Trail in anti-clockwise direction. Class-o hey!
