Just off the B69 Claudy/Limavady Road (links the A6 Dungiven/Derry with the A2 Limavady/Derry).
An expansive forest with a number of route options on the forest tracks and lots of altitude gain possible and accompanying high speed descents! Location of a former XC race, but exact location and condition of former trails unknown.

This forest is good for training on the forest paths as it has some long climbs and decents that make a nice loop that will take you 45mins to an hour to go round. Paths have now been graded so they are smooth although they have dug shallow drains(not speed bumps) across the steeper bits to aid drainage and prevent erosion. There is about 10mins of singletrack, but wouldn't even go near it now unless there is a long dry spell as some pricks with scramblers have recked it all and left it very mucky and rooty!

Nice views over the Sperrins but in terms of trails and mountain biking suitability it's pretty rubbish. Unfortunately they've made speed bumps on all paths so you're speed on hills is drastically limited. If you're passing through try it out. I actually cycled from my home in Eglinton to Ballykelly, then up to Loughermore forest and surprisingly made my way home on the Munnaboy road. It was a nice coincidence.
