Overnight Stays

One option is Greenhead Lodge, which sleeps 8 in a converted barn in
proper (biker) luxury, about 6 miles north of Dumfries. 6 people sharing works out at £15 per person per night!

It is about an hour from Kirroughtree, and no more than 30 mins from Dalbeattie, Mabie, Ae, and Drumlanrig - a perfect base for short trips where you want to ride trails at a number of the centres.

if you have good balance and you LOVE really tricky riding, then the 4km of northshore at kona darkside is a must. no big drops or anything, just really technical corners and skinnies. but it seems like a long oul cycle to get round to it. the 'taster' bit of northshore before the cycle to the actual 4km of stuff is really good fun.
