One option is Greenhead Lodge, which sleeps 8 in a converted barn in
proper (biker) luxury, about 6 miles north of Dumfries. 6 people sharing works out at £15 per person per night!

It is about an hour from Kirroughtree, and no more than 30 mins from Dalbeattie, Mabie, Ae, and Drumlanrig - a perfect base for short trips where you want to ride trails at a number of the centres.

  • probably one of the best courses i've ever raced on in Scotland. It has everything from burms, technical sections, flat out sections and BIG jumps (coffin jump).
    Only downside is the walk up if you don't organise up-lifts on a day trip.
    The courses are well riden so grip is great on a good day.
    The other course/sections with all the jumps etc is great for messing about on with a crowd.

  • Some of the best trails I have ridden. Big Berms, drops and jumps that even I can manage. It is starting to age now and is a lot better for it. No longer is the entire trail smooth as a babys bum. Be ready for rough technical descents and fast riding.

    There are a lot of new trails opening there to increase the percentage of singletrack over fireroads on an already brilliant centre.
