We've added the ability to plot GPS maps to TrailBadger.com
Simply export your track from your gps device, preferably in *.gpx format, and send it to us at info@trailbadger.com telling us of course which trail on trailbadger.com it relates to.
OK, it's not DIY just yet, but we are badgering away here to keep improving the site, and if the demand is there, we will expand to allow folks to upload these themselves.
Exporting GPX files from your GPS unit
Some units come with software to make it easy to upload and share your GPS tracks with popular sites like motionbased.
If you know how to upload to motionbased you can download the gpx file from there.
However should your GPS unit exports your tracks in a different format, you can convert it to GPX using GPS Babel from www.gpsbabel.org.
If you are unsure about the format your unit produces, use the software that came with it to export the tracks to your computer and send it to us anyway, we'll try to do the conversion.
Once uploaded you'll be able to see your trail plotted on a Google map on that trails page on trailbadger.com.
NOTE: The trails on this site have been ridden before, but you should not interpret their inclusion as an indication that mountain-biking is officially sanctioned on them. Seeking permission from landowners is your own responsibility, as is conducting yourself in a manner that is courteous, respectful to the environment, and conscious of the safety of others.
