National Trails Day - Sun 2nd Oct 2011
This Sunday, 2nd October is National Trails Day, a day that sees trails opening their doors to the public free of charge.
The perfect excuse to get on yer bike and get out. There are organised free events all over the country this weekend including at some of our favourite spots, Blessingbourne MTB Centre and Castleward. So we encourage all badgers to get out and about this weekend.
Even if you don't want to get in among the newbies, learners and kiddies - it's still National Trails Day - so do your bit and hit the trails. Using the trails, especially on a high profile weekend such as this is a good way to ensure that not only do they stay open, but better still - that more and more land owners become ameniable to the idea of building trails on tehir properties.
Of course, national Trails Day isn't just about MTB, in fact it mostly involves walking trails - if you want to find out more about what's going on around the whole of Ireland - check out the National Trails Day website at www.nationaltrailsday.ie
NOTE: The trails on this site have been ridden before, but you should not interpret their inclusion as an indication that mountain-biking is officially sanctioned on them. Seeking permission from landowners is your own responsibility, as is conducting yourself in a manner that is courteous, respectful to the environment, and conscious of the safety of others.
