On 29 November, Trailbadger.com representatives Rick and Davy met with DARD Minister Michelle O'Neill and senior executives from Forest Service at Parliament Buildings, Stormont. Our discussion focused on recent progress on trail development projects, and explored models for delivering future projects. Hopefully a positive step of partnership between the local mountain biking community and DARD/Forest Service.
Following the very positive announcement in Stormont the previous day that the proposed Forest bye-laws relating to night-time access and cycling were to be abandoned, both the Minister and the Forest Service team were extremely positive in their outlook, and were more than open to discuss various options.
Further meetings are planned for the coming months and, who knows, maybe one of those meetings will be a day out on the bikes!
NOTE: The trails on this site have been ridden before, but you should not interpret their inclusion as an indication that mountain-biking is officially sanctioned on them. Seeking permission from landowners is your own responsibility, as is conducting yourself in a manner that is courteous, respectful to the environment, and conscious of the safety of others.
